Post-Anesthesia Recovery Mercy Medical Center’s Recovery Room operates five days a week from the hours of 6 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. to care for adult and pediatric patients who require continuous monitoring, assessment, evaluation, and intervention during the transition from a totally anesthetized state to one requiring less treatment and evaluation of the perceived, actual, or potential physical or psychosocial problems that may result from the intrusion of anesthetic agents and techniques. Our unique knowledge base regarding anesthetic agents and techniques, the physiological and psychological bodily responses to these interventions, vulnerability of patients subjected to anesthesia and medical interventions requiring anesthesia are coupled with all the principles of medical/surgical nursing.
