On her job . . .
“Everyday is busy.... With the increase in population all areas are affected. Some days I’m needed in one area more than another so time management is a priority. Staffing is probably the biggest challenge.”
On being named Employee of the Month . . .
“I thought I was going to ICU to get report and probably help Lana celebrate her birthday. I was greeted by a great bunch of staff that made me feel very special. Thanks. I’m very honored.”
On what she looks forward to each day . . .
“Making the most of each day, whether at home or at work. I’m always glad to spend time with my “boys” - my husband, Jim and my dog, Sparky.”
On patient relations . . .
“Treat all your patients as you would like to be treated. Everyone deserves kindness and respect.”
Nomination Comments . . .
“Phyllis is such a wonderful supervisor and fellow nurse to work with. She is so helpful and anticipates things that need to be done. The last time I worked a weekend with her we were very busy and she just came in and started emptying garbages. She is always helping to take dirty laundry down and bring us a new cart too. I just really appreciate everything she does to help with a smile. She truly is here to help.”
