About Cindy Solberg, RN, Operating Room. . .
Cindy was born in Colorado and raised in Ray. "My folks came here during the 1950’s boom. I have two daughters. One daughter and her husband live in Las Vegas. They have one son who will be a year old in November....guess where grandma will be? My other daughter lives in Knoxville, TN. Both of my daughters are Speech/Language Pathologists."

On her job . . .
"I have often wondered what I would have been, if not a nurse. I doubt any of my fantasy jobs would have provided the unique challenges, learning opportunities, self satisfaction and memories that being a nurse has given me."

On being named Employee of the Month . . .
"Shocked! ALMOST speechless! Thanks to the person who saw something I did or said that was worthy of making note of."

On what she looks forward to each day . . .
"Two small things I enjoy just about every day. I love that first cup of fresh coffee when the sun hasn’t come up yet and picking up a "good read" at the end of the day. Those are the times of day that ‘all is right.’ "

On patient relations . . .
"Just recently I had my father in the ER, so I was on the other side of the fence for a change. While modern technology is important, it is the personal touch that makes a difference. Things like a smile, some small talk, a helping hand, and a warm blanket are not big things by themselves, but they do leave an impression. ER staff. YOU ROCK!"

"Cindy is a very conscientious and dedicated OR nurse. She is always ready, willing and able. In addition to her surgical duties, she has been working in the ER area as a triage nurse. Cindy has been a great asset to that area and has assisted ER in getting patients seen sooner rather than later. She truly exemplifies the Mercy Spirit and deserves to be recognized as Employee of the Month."
