| Primary Duties: |
Obtains patient assignments from nurse in charge of patient’s care.
Reports changes in residents condition to the nurse in charge.
Answers call lights or intercom system to determine patient’s needs.
Performs bathing, dressing, and undressing of patients on the Medical Surgical Unit.
Documents intake of meals. Assist patients who require help with eating.
Assists patient to ambulate as informed by the nurse in charge. Document number of times ambulated.
Transports patients as instructed by nurse.
Turns, repositions, provides skin care to bedfast patients as informed by the nurse in charge.
Documents when this is completed. Notifies nurse in charge of any skin breakdown.
Takes and records temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration, finger stick blood sugar,intake and output, and weight as informed by the nurse in charge. Notifies nurse of results.
Completes cleaning of the unit according to established cleaning guidelines.

| Qualifications: |
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Prior nursing assistant experience preferred.
Required licensure/certification: Heart Saver Certification that is current.
Certified Nursing Assistants to have their certification current. Nursing Assistant to be registered on the Nursing Assistant Registry (ND State Board of Nursing).
